of the air compressor. The same holds true for galvanized air compressor discharge and distribution piping. Often, due to the aggressive acidic characteristics of condensate, the life of the galvanized coating may be shorter downstream of the air compressor. Copper Piping Copper pipe is a common selection for sensitive compressed air systems and
We are talking about the line that is attached to the compressor pump head, an example of which is shown in the image below, where the compressed air exits the pump. This line allows flow of air from the pump head to a fitting (usually) on the compressor tank. Caution: on most air compressors this line is made of metal.

It is the copper tube marked with a red triangle. This next image shows a similar line and its source. This line, identified by the red triangle, is aluminum. It could also be copper as is shown in the first image. The line plumbs from the fitting where the air line from the compressor pump enters the tank.
Jan 23, 2019· Types of compressed air pipe materials. Industrial compressed air plumbing was, and continues to be built using black metal pipe. Many folks still use it as it is relatively cheap when lots of pipe is needed for a plant installation. And I suppose it is cheaper if a larger air main is needed. May 15, 2020· Posted on: May 15, 2020 Owners of compressed air piping systems tend to focus on the compressor and think of the piping as less of a concern. However, just as hearts can fail due to clogged arteries, compressors can fail due to poor piping. And even if it doesn't fail outright, power lost to faulty or inefficient pipes can cut into your profits.
Jan 01, 2010· Thank you all for a good response on this thread. I have soldered copper pipe before but was intrigued by this new product. The manufacture stated that it has been tested on compressed air. I am deciding on either black pipe (1" as recommeded by Pro-street69Camaro468) or Copper.

Oct 11, 2015· Copper makes a good air line, but "M" is too thin in my mind. Very little protection from bumps, thin spots, etc. Personally don't understand the attraction of push-on (Shark Bite etc.) fittings.
